Formed in 2001, ARAPYMA began recording demos and relentlessly playing the Cincy club scene. Blending elements of old-school metal, punk, prog, and modern rock, they have managed to blend this host of styles into a cohesive statement. Although they have endured lineup changes and other setbacks, they have remained focused, crafting razor-sharp blasts of hard rock that are epic yet succinct; never losing sight of their big picture. Jon Powers' thundering bass precision locks on to Mark Taylor's eclectic yet ferocious percussion. Rob Tewes' adamant vocals and bludgeoning rhythm guitar work intertwine with Matt Taylor's elements of blues and blazing shred, creating wide textures and lush harmonies while instigating the push and pull of their counterparts' driving rhythm section. The result is a sonic release that transcends the sum of their influences while simultaneously paying respects to those who made them who they are. |
